We are in full swing of summer here at my house.  The days are filled with play dates, short excursions and grandparent time.  Sundays overlook a mostly empty upcoming week, but by Monday evening, every day is filled with some type of activity.  The first month of summer has flown by and I can say that I have mostly enjoyed this extra time with my two girls. This collection of music is a bit different than what I have given you prior.  There is no "pop" or "dance-y" sound to any of them.  They mostly have a harder, more Americana sound (even though Owl John is Scottish).  I have even included a throw-back Oasis tune.  I think it always appropriate to celebrate past genius.  Enjoy the tunes and I would love to hear your feedback on what I have included here or any of the music I have shared with you in the past.  Or, if you have suggestions, I would love to hear that as well!!  JCMT Owl John - "Two" Eve to Ad...

Happy Tuesday!  Today I am sharing with you an international group of music-makers.  Jack White is American; Ella Eyre is British; Kings of Convenience are from Norway; New Hollow hails from Ontario; and Biffy Clyro are a British rock band that formed in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire.  I love that each group/singer playing here have their own unique sound and style.  Influenced by their environmental surroundings?  Maybe, maybe not.  But unique they are.  Enjoy!  JCMT Jack White - "Would You Fight For My Love?" Ella Eyre - "If I Go" Kings of Convenience - "I'd Rather Dance With You" New Hollow - "She Ain't You" Biffy Clyro - "Bubbles"

Today is New Music Tuesday!!  Music posts are probably my favorite part of doing this blog.  I can research music all I want and it does not lead to any type of soul searching in order for me to share my findings with you.  It is quite time consuming as I prefer sampling groups and songs that are not found on mainstream radio, but the end results are so worth it!  You, the readers of this blog, have also suggested so many new groups (keep it up - I love the suggestions!!) that have then led me to other new and exciting groups.  I am bursting to start sharing with you part of my extensive list of fantastic music.  So, sit back and enjoy the euphonic stylings of today and I will be back with you later in the week with my next official ramble.  Cheers for now!!  JCMT (As always, you can click on the box to play the video, or the underlined name of the song/group is a link straight to t...

My first New Music posting of 2015 finds me all over the place.  All in a good way people; all in a good way. My first song choice is by a group that I happen to love only because every song I hear from them leaves me feeling happy and refreshed, and this song is no exception.  It is a bit on the long side but definitely worth a listen.  A fitting start to the new year. Nahko and Medicine for the People - "Budding Trees"     alt-J is an up-and-coming group that I am hearing more and more on mainstream radio.  I have mixed feelings about this.  I love up-and-comers, always feel excited about their musical genius.  The downside to up-and-comers is when that musical genius becomes regular rotation fodder on mainstream radio, which just means that too many people are now being exposed to that genius.  Waters them down, diluting that genius (yes, I have just used the word 'genius' four time...

Hello all on this fine, fantastic Tuesday!!  I am back with new music.  I do not apologise for missing the music post last week as I was in New Mexico visiting my grandparents, but I am quite happy to be back here with a whole new mix of music for you.  As I was proofing this post before sending it out to y'all, I realised that I must have been in a pretty mellow mood these last few days, as it seems a reflection on the songs/groups I have picked.  So brew yourself a cup of tea, prop your feet up and enjoy the languid stylings.  JCMT Kodaline - "All I Want" Jake Bugg - "Lightning Bolt"   Bear's Den - "Pompeii"      Grouplove - "Let Me In" (The Fault In Our Stars)      Mikky Ekko - "Kids"

Happy Tuesday y'all!!!  Glad to be back with you this week.  I took last week off to enjoy the holiday with family and friends.  Though I have to admit that I missed putting this particular blog together.  As well, I got quite a few enquiries from you good people on why they had not received the usual music in their in-boxes.  I love to hear that!  Not that you aren't happy with my lack of blogging for a week, but that y'all are enjoying the music you are hearing and are looking forward to it weekly.  Cheers to that!!!  As always, if you cannot see the videos (specifically if you are looking at it on your mobile phone), click  here and it will take you to my actual blog.  As well, the name of the video is an actual link to the YouTube video, so phone viewers, this may help you.  Enjoy the music and I always welcome any feedback on what you think about what you are hearing, what you would like to hear more of, less of or if the...

Music is a very important part of my life.  It has been that way for as long as I can remember.  As I look back throughout the years, certain memories from my childhood as well as my formative teenage years are inexplicably tied to a particular song or a concert I attended or a group that I still have not been able to shake.  I can confidently say that Handy Hubby feels the same about the role music plays and has played in his life.  When I was pregnant with each of our girls, music was a nightly ritual, piped into my belly via massive headphones.  A different style each night - a different response from the baby each night.  Handy Hubby and I do not crossover much in the styles that we listen to, but we are both proud of the musical vocabulary we are imparting to The Littles.  Many a night has been spent listening to a CD (an age appropriate one, of course) while watching the girls dance.  Probably some of my favourite evenings, to...
