The Birthday Weekend

Image
This weekend, the whole weekend, we celebrated Oldest Daughter turning six.  Her birthday will not actually be here until later this week, but we decided to celebrate it a bit early.  Saturday was her Friend Birthday Party.  She was allowed to invite six of her friends to celebrate it with her (one for each year she has been alive).  She invited three girls from her Kindergarten class (two of which she has known since Preschool), two from the neighbourhood and her cousin.  I let her pick the theme of the party and she chose 'Movie Watching While in Pajamas'.  I loved the movie-watching part, but I will admit, I did think the pajama wearing part was a bit strange.  So I set out to try and dissuade her on the pajama wearing part.  She would not budge and I relented.  Found out though, that all of the girls were the most excited about getting to wear pajamas to a party.  Who knew?  Not me. Another Milestone

We have hit another milestone in our family.  Youngest Daughter has graduated to a toddler bed!    It makes me happy and sad at the same time.  My baby girl is in a "big-girl" bed.  One by one, all of her "baby" things are falling away.  Next on the list to disappear - diapers.  Though I am not so sure I will be sad to see them go......JCMT Guess who is Star Student of the Week? Yep, Oldest Daughter - that's who!!!!  I am such a proud mamma!!!  JCMT

A few weeks ago, Oldest Daughter and I went to the dentist for her normal six month cleaning.  When he informed us she had a loose tooth, neither one of us had known it was there.  He did mention that the tooth was still about a month away from coming out.  Wrong.  That tooth was wiggled day and night.  And when it finally came out, it was ready.  No blood.  No pain.  Just elation on the part of a little girl. When Brother had seen the loose tooth for the first time, he mentioned to Oldest Daughter that she was a lucky girl because she was close...
