Fantastic Room Friday - February 7, 2014

It has been awhile since I have done a Fantastic Room Friday.  Not since the new year has started, anyways.  So I guess it is about time!!  As seems to be the norm, I am not actually showcasing a room.  Today I thought I would showcase stairs.  and not just any stairs.  Stairs with a rug runner!  I know, you can hardly contain the excitement building within you.  I get it - so I will just jump right in and put you out of your misery.

I just love the look of stairs with a rug.  Not a single rug that sits on each stair.  One long, continuous runner rug.

I think the runner just elevates the stairway from usual to extraordinary.

And there is such versatility.  You could make any rug runner work, really.  The first picture featured a solid jute rug with a dark blue border.  The last two rug runners featured stripes.  Both different types of stripes patterns though, as well as different colours.  I suppose the skys the limit with the creativity you could portray in your use of rug runners.  What fun!  JCMT

The Weekend

We have been a sick household since the middle of May.  Not all at the same time, cuz that's not how we roll.  One person at a time.  And we weren't just passing around the same sickness - oh no, we had to be individuals with our own special sicknesses. At two separate times, Mike and I had planned date days.  We had been SO looking forward to seeing "Fast and Furious 6" and our first date night attempt was the movie's opening Friday.  Nope.  I was sick and unable to get out of bed.  You can thank me later for sparing you the details. Second attempt was two weeks later.  Same plan - sushi and "FF6". Nu uh.  Mike was sick this time. Lessons Learned from my 5-Year-Old

Eat only when you’re hungry. And there is no guilt needed if hunger calls to you 15 minutes after you have just eaten lunch. A fancy cereal box trumps the toy inside every time. Say hi to strangers. And I mean every stranger.  Especially when they look grumpy. Be proud of your tummy. Be willing to show that tummy to everyone.   Ask 'why' a lot. Do not stop asking 'why' until you are completely satisfied. When in doubt, make up a silly dance. Everything becomes clearer after a silly dance. Negotiate your destiny.   Stomp when you are grumpy. How will others know you are grumpy without the stomp?   Despise injustice.   Have a point of view.   Be easily bribed by sugar. Or afternoon movies. Drink from cups that make you feel fancy.
