My Week
My head is spinning just a little because of how full this week has been. Please indulge me as I share a few of the highlights.
Monday
Today I turned 43 years old. Yes, that's right - I am a woman that has just admitted to her true age. I am proud of every single one of my years. Not every one has been fantastic. Not every one would I want to go back and re-live. The point is though, I have been given these past 43 years to make my mistakes, learn from those mistakes and become a better person from those mistakes. All of my years have been a gift that some have not been lucky enough to have received. I know there are many people no longer with us that would give anything for another year, or just one more day. So I feel it is my duty to feel blessed by having had these years and I look forward to the gift of each new year I may be granted with.
To celebrate reaching this milestone, my morning was spent having breakfast with my mom and Youngest Daughter (yes, I am aware that what is holding up that candle does not look remotely like breakfast food, but shouldn't all food look like this?)....
And the evening was spent eating sushi and going to the movies with Handy Hubby.
In between these two delectable meals, The Littles gave me a fantastic handmade card (drawn by Oldest Daughter with an actual hand outlined on the front) and loads of hugs, kisses and singing of the Happy Birthday song. It was a great day!!!
Tuesday
Today my Clan added a new member to its ranks.

Tuesday
Today my Clan added a new member to its ranks.
Her name is Cassie.
She is a 13 week old mini poodle with a natural cut of hair - no crazy tufts of hair balls anywhere on her!!!
She loves cuddling, sitting in your lap, giving kisses and taking long walks on the beach. Oh, and little girls that dress like princesses.
Wednesday
Today we woke to rain. Glorious rain! It rained for hours. It flooded the streets, overflowed backyard wading pools and caused small children to dress like this.....
Oldest Daughter, Cassie and I visited a pets store today as well. We needed supplies for our new puppy. Beds and toys and collars, oh my! And I cried just a little when I saw the dollar total of our purchases. Yikes!
Thursday
Today our cat was groomed. She is a double-coated calico cat. She looked like this when the groomer arrived at our house.....
And this afterwards. Strangely enough, she is still not talking to me. I wonder why?
Friday
Today, Youngest Daughter had her first playdate. She has been to many playdates in the past, but they were all Oldest Daughters playdates that she was lucky enough to tag along to. But this one was all her own. Her little friend, who is seven months older than her, came over and they played cars, soaked each other at the water table and generally both tried to not share the toys they thought were fabulous. Fun times all around - and I cannot wait for the next one!!! (And maybe on the next one I will remember to snap a photo or two - bad mommy!!!)
This evening, Handy Hubby and Oldest Daughter took Cassie on her first walk. As a puppy, she did not know how to walk on a leash and Oldest Daughter did not know how to walk a dog on a leash. It was a learning experience all the way around!
I love this picture as it looks like they are pros at the walking on a leash thing. Believe me, this was just a lucky photo op.....
Saturday
Today I was fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday again. Don't you just love celebrating a fun occasion more than once!!! This celebration was with a few members of my family. Handy Hubby made my favourite meal, Beef Stroganoff......
paired with my favorite cake, Boston Cream Pie (slightly strange that a cake has the word pie in the title, but as long as it's tasty, they can call it whatever they like).
It was a great day to celebrate with my dad;
My aunt;
My cousin;
And my in-laws (yep, looks like my picture taking skills missed out on snapping a picture of my father-in-law).
Sunday
Today we woke up to a sick Oldest Daughter. Those 'Back-to-School' germs have struck again....
It has been a busy, but good week. I love this crazy life of mine!!! JCMT
