Fantastic Room Friday - July 12, 2013

I was unable to do a 'Fantastic Room Friday' post last week, so I thought I would make up for it today.  Instead of just putting one picture up here about a room I feel is fantastic, I will go one step further and will show you several rooms that I am currently obsessing over.  Let's get started!!

I am in love with this door.  I love the fact that it is mostly windows, so it lets in an enormous amount of natural light.  It works well in that respect with the side window.  It does almost look like a dutch door, though this particular door is not split between the top half and the bottom half.  I even love the door handle.  The original handle works well with the colour and the structure of the hanging light.  What a perfect first impression this door lends to your house.  Love it!

Here is my idea of a simple kitchen.  First, it is all white aside from the gray back splash.  It makes the kitchen feel light and airy.  I love the open shelving.  I know that you will either love em or hate em (with really no in-between) - I just happen to love em.  The counter top is a simple darker wood block to contrast with the whiteness of the shelving and cabinets.  And I do love me a farm sink.  The fixtures are a perfect fit with the colour of the back splash.  This kitchen just feels like the gathering place of a home.

And last but not least, the dining room.  I have a large extended family that I feel this table would more-than-likely be able to seat.  The table is slightly rustic, and the chairs have a more modern feel about them.  They balance each other out.  The whiteness of the walls, the white planked ceiling and the white hutch lend to the brightness (sensing a pattern here?) of the room that is helped by the windowed door.  The final touch is the lighting.  The rustic feel of the hanging lights erases any stuffiness this room might have.

I hope you enjoyed the trip through my current front-of-the-house obsessions (though I could do 200 more of these easily).  I hope you have a fantastic and rainy weekend.  JCMT
