Fantastic Room Friday - August 23, 2013
Today's Fantastic Room is actually on Handy Hubby's to-do list. I have wanted an outdoor shower for years. And for years it has been talked about, but so many other house things were more pertinent. To come right down to it, it is a crazy little luxury. I envision my outdoor shower to have a small solar water tank, all soaps (including hair products) used would be biodegradable and non-toxic to plants so that the water could be collected and re-used. In the part of Arizona I currently live in, an outdoor shower can realistically be utilised a majority of the year. Here are a few examples of fantastic outdoor showers:
I love the use of curtains in this shower:

This one only has three sides. For privacy issues (I do live in a neighbourhood community), I think I need four sides. Oops, never mind - now I see the door.

I love the way this homeowner designed their outdoor shower to look like an extension of their house. It's hard to see in this picture, but the walls of the shower are the same as what was used for the balcony.

This outdoor shower is a little more gutsy. It's not attached to the house, but they did a good job at making it fit to its' surroundings (well as much as a random outdoor shower can). For me, it feels too much like an outhouse by not being attached. Still cute though.

This last example is a bit more rustic. More on the masculine side. Again, it follows the outline of the house in its' design. I do love the hanging hooks provided outside the shower.

May you live a long life
Full of gladness and health.
With a pocket full of gold
As the least of your wealth.
May the dreams you hold dearest
Be those which come true.
May the kindness you spread
Keep returning to you.
